We are excited to announce the upcoming 2-week residential Summer School on Air Pollution in Ghana, organized by the Clean Air Fund in collaboration with the Department of Meteorology and Climate Science at KNUST, Ghana, and the University of Leeds, UK. This unique opportunity is designed to deepen your understanding of air pollution and its multifaceted impact while fostering collaboration, skill development, and networking among participants.

Event Details:

Date(s): 21st October 2023 to 4th November 2023.

Location: Aboagye Menyeh Complex, College of Science, KNUST, Ghana.

Application Deadline: 23:59 GMT, 15th September 2023.

This immersive summer school aims to equip participants with comprehensive insights into air pollution. Through a dynamic blend of activities, including scientific lectures, hands-on fieldwork, and lab experiments, data analysis software training, engaging networking sessions, a field trip to a key air pollution source, and interactive school outreach, you will gain a well-rounded perspective on the subject.

Key Objectives:

1. Explore air pollution sources, impacts, science, monitoring, modeling, policy making, and solutions.

2. Foster a sense of responsibility, activism, creativity, and problem-solving in addressing air pollution challenges.

3. Facilitate interdisciplinary learning by bringing together students and faculty from diverse academic backgrounds.

4. Enhance technical skills in field measurements, lab experiments, data analysis, and more to support your future research and professional endeavors.

Selection Criteria:

The summer school is open to tertiary students with a passion for air pollution studies and early-career researchers, technicians, and professionals residing in Ghana.
